The median sales price for homes in Los Angeles in the last 3 months or so (July 2013 - October 2013) was $519,000, that's only half a million dollars, folks. And not too bad considering that it looks like things are getting more expensive. This represents an increase of of 3.8% or $19,000, compared to the prior quarter and an increase of 23.7% compared to last year. Also, sales prices have appreciated 9.3% over the last 5 years in L.A. Popular neighborhoods include Hollywood Hills, Brentwood, Silver Lake, Mid City and Westwood.
